Looking for a Virtual Office Platform Solution?

We’re delighted to announce the winners of our Innovator Award for Remote Work Technology Solutions, in the Virtual Office Platform category.

We looked at over a dozen virtual office platform solutions, for remote workers, but whittled it down to the providers for whom a virtual office platform was core to their offering, rather than those who offered it as an extension of a broader technology – for example, virtual event platforms cross over into virtual office platforms to some degree because, by virtue of having the ability to create networking rooms and training sessions etc, they can also offer a solution which serves the purpose of a virtual office.  Likewise, some of the screen-sharing and collaboration technologies also offer extended functionality which creates a virtual office environment – but again, it’s an extension of another solution rather than dedicated to solving the problem of needing to replicate an office set-up, on a virtual platform.  We wanted to bring you the best of the best specifically in creating an online version of your in-office work environment.

We listed out and summarised some of the functionality of our favourite virtual office platforms here.  Today, we wanted to share with you the 2 companies we’ve awarded our RemoteWork360 Innovator Award to:

Innovator Award – Walkabout Workplace

We’re delighted to announce that the winner of our Innovator Award goes to Walkabout Workplace.   Walkabout Workplace had the most impressive feature-set, it was more customisable than other solutions in terms of the look and feel of the office environment, and enabled users to not only have some fun with their layouts (including turning their office into a bar, or the whitehouse), but also to recreate the branding or exact look and feel of their physical office spaces, which helps create a sense of community and belonging, which can be really helpful for remote work teams.  It’s also particularly useful for hybrid teams, since it creates a degree of continuity over environment, whether workers are in-office or remote.  It has a full feature set, enabling you to conduct video-meetings, onboarding, training, interviewing, team collaboration and even add a coffee lounge or virtual water cooler for more serendipitous “hallway” conversations we’re all missing.  It’s not an expensive solution – starting at $10 per user per month and works entirely in-browser, so no downloads are required.

Take a look around this innovative and intuitive solution here:

Innovator Award – Wurkr

The RemoteWork360 team were also very impressed with Wurkr – and so we awarded a second Innovator Award in this category. Wurkr deserved the Innovator Award for providing excellent facilities for onboarding, training, meeting and networking – but, importantly, for currently offering these services to users for free, thereby enabling the virtues of a virtual office platform to be extolled, and for users to really get to grips with this exciting technology, without having to persuade procurement departments first.  So, if you’re looking for a free option to try out – get in touch with Wurkr.  The free option will not be available forever, so don’t hang about!  Here’s a demo and overview of their features and functionality:
